When beginning your project; remember to check the color format of the output device and the applications you choose to use. Remember, your screen will approximate your colors, but an incorrect profile can skew delicate colors when sent to the printer.
All to often, the biggest challenge to delivering a good final print, especially an enlargement comes from incorrect proportions, poor cropping instructions, and printing to the wrong image surface. To be sure that your file will scale to the enlargement size, create your file at it's final size when possible, and when it's not; scale back to half size or quartersize.
If your image is going to fill the print edge to edge, allow some bleed image so we can trim accurately. Providing crops will ensure that all the image that you deem critical, remains in the print.
Proof your image to the material your final product will be imaged to. Colors are affected by the printing device, and it's drivers, by the material and by the environment it will be placed in. Check with us and let us know what colors are critical and where the image is to be placed and for how long. We use numerous printing materials; each with unique properties, let us help you pick the most suitable surface so your image is presented at it's best. |
